#6 Our family Adventure #montanahalfmarathon

Thursday another morning of coffee and lots of sister time, around lunch time Mark took the four ladies up to bear run overlook, We Hiked about 3 miles out to a overlook, it was AWSOME!!!

Our plan was To bike back to the house which would have been about 12 miles, we were just getting started and a tire on Sates bike blew. So Mart and I decided To bike out to the garage where there vehicle was, since our options otherwise for anyone to pick us up was very limited, Mark went to pick Allen up at the airport, Sam had the 9 kiddos, and Ivan was still at work. So off we went. We biked about 10 miles and realized we sort of went the wrong way and ended up back tracking..
We got there but we were a little tired and sore.:):)

Allen got there shortly after we got back and we spent a relaxing evening on the deck.

post #2 of our family adventure #Montanahalfmarathon

We all got a good nights sleep and I made creamed chip beef and eggs and we hit the road, with 24 hours of driving behind us and a good nights sleep we are ready for a fun day of sightseeing ahead of us.. We crossed the Missouri river and the scenery has changed!!! So far the driving was a challenge lots of traffic and construction..:( We decided to do the badlands and it was well worth it. we put the boys in backpacks and went and did some hiking.

Stopped at a town called Wall Drug But it was very busy and the boys were sleeping so we decided to keep moving I made some sandwiches and the children took a nap, I bathed the kiddos and we settled down to sleep The plan was to pull over at a wal-mart and sleep around 11:00 but had to settle for home depot.. we shut everything down and tried to sleep but just didn't feel comfortable so Sam said he is going to keep driving, he woke me up and said I need to see this we were way on top of a mountain!! pulled off in a overlook area, that's where we spent the night, The view the next morning at 5:30 was magnificent!!

#5 our family adventure #Montanahalfmarathon

Tuesday..
Another lazy day, Lots of laundry and naps. Mart Took Elijah to the ER To get his arm checked out (Skateboarding accident) Now its in a sling and he has to go back again since there is a chance its fractured.. We decided to head to Glacier.. so around 6:30 we loaded up the kiddos and Ruthie went with, we drove to flathead lake which was about half way stopped for Ice cream, by then it was 9:30, we knew Ivan Was working in flathead and he was spending the night there. so he happen to see our RV in the parking lot of the ice cream shop ran over and jumped in the RV..(This was while we were in getting ice cream) hides in the bathroom, so we come back out and start going down the road soon I hear something drop back by the bathroom so I go back and soon the door flies open and he hollers. I was horrified!! it took me awhile to get over that one..
So then we pulled off to watch the sun go down over flathead then parked at a wal-mart. Sam and I went in and grabbed some groceries. then settled in to sleep.. Didn't sleep that well Joseph was up a lot, finally around 6:00 he threw up and then he slept after that.. Got up around 8:00 made some pancakes, creamed chip beef and toast and eggs. and we went on our merry way, had two more hours of driving, the smoke was getting heavy and we could not see the top of the mountains so we were getting a little worried but when we got to the place where we had to park they said when we get to the top it will be clear. could not find parking:(:( so we had to go back and park off on a overlook and walk a half mile up to where the shuttles were.. took a shuttle to the very top and walked to the hidden lake.. By now I guess joseph was so use to hearing me say Wow he would look out the window and point and say Wow..:) IT WAS SPECTACULAR!!!!!! Once again the children were amazing and they had a blast..

We ended the day by sitting along the river...
